Eggnog French toast

The last recipe of the year is here, and it is definitely a highlight. You need the homemade eggnog I posted this week, and then you blend that with a few ingredients, soak some bread in it, and fry up a delicious French toast. It's definitely a winner on Christmas morning, so practice it this week, and you will impress yourself and your family on Christmas. It's creamy, fluffy, and best if you make it with cinnamon raisin toast. I personally love the Food For Life sprouted grain cinnamon raisin bread for this, but you can use any delicious bread you can find. Preparation time: 45 minutes (does not include eggnog making time) Makes 2 servings: 1 banana 1 cup eggnog (find the recipe here or u

Holiday egg nog and peppermint hot chocolate

Sweet drinks during the holiday season are my downfall! I used to love everything holiday flavored at Starbucks. I hate coffee, but I would endure it for the sake of all the holiday cheer. Of course once you start to look into it, you are shocked at the synthetic ingredients of most holiday flavored products - not just drinks. High fructose corn syrup, refined oils, artificial flavors and colors are pretty much everywhere. That clearly does not make for a healthy or happy holiday season. Bloat galore, skin breakouts, extreme mood swings, and a growing waist are all side effects I can live without. That's why I now follow all my holiday rituals, and still enjoy what I really want to enjoy. Ch

Fitness Advent Calendar Day 10

Welcome back to the Fitness Advent Calendar challenge. For a lazy Sunday, the theme is "All I Want For Christmas Is To Love My Body". The theme may seem a little bit "hippie" to you, but the reality is that if we constantly hate everything our body, our body will never do what we want it to do. Understanding our body, and loving it will bring us peace of mind, and a body that looks and feels the way we want. Give it a try today - show your body some love! The exercise video is now up on YouTube. Check out the "Surviving the Holidays" ebook to learn more about your body's stress response, and how deep belly breathing can help you!
