Offline for a week

Hello lovely friends, I will be going offline for this week. As I have mentioned a few times recently, I am currently super overwhelmed with life's to-do-list, Baby Zand dropping her nap, and just a lot going on. I am going offline from the blog and all social media for the week, so I can reset, spend some much needed quality time with Baby Zand before she starts school again, and heal this finger, which must be my body's way of telling me to slow down?!? I will be back in September with lots of new fun for you to try out. Until then, why not try a social media detox yourself? Lots of love,

New TRX video is here - come and join me

It's YouTube Friday, and I heard you. A new advanced TRX video is here for all of you who would like to take your TRX practice to the next level. This is one of my favorite TRX flows, and it adds a level of body balance and core fire to your regular flow routines. If you are new to the TRX, I suggest you start with the TRX essentials video and try out the TRX summer strong first before heading into this more advanced flow. In this video it's best if you have a free hanging TRX, but if you are anchoring it to the door you can slightly adjust the beginning of the routine facing your door. Mango slaw

Summer is starting to fade, I can just tell! The sun rises later in the morning while I am exercising, in the evenings I need a sweater, and our veggie garden is starting to empty out. But summer BBQs are still abundant in our back yard, and this mango slaw is super simple to throw together for a crunchy, fresh side. You can make big portions of this, and prepare it a few hours ahead of time if you have a big party coming up. Just keep it in the fridge to let it marinate. An inversion tutorial is finally here!

The video so many of you have been requesting is here! Today we are going to tackle inversions. Don't freak out, and don't run away. Most of us think of fancy Instagram worthy handstands at the beach when we hear inversions. The reality is that an inversion is any pose that brings your head underneath your heart. All day long your body is pumping blood against gravity, so from your heart to your brain as well as from your feet back up to your heart. That is a lot of work! I get a lot of questions around the ketogenic diet, what I think about it, and if I would advise anyone to go on it. That's a lot, so brace yourself for today's answers :-). Can you tell that I am slightly obsessed with plums at the moment? The summer tomato and plum salad is on our dinner table most nights, and every morning I top my oatmeal with plum ginger jam. Plum season is so short, as is the summer BBQ season. So let's make the most of both of them with this delicious recipe. I know that we all don't have the time to exercise, so today's session is for you if you constantly find yourself running out of minutes in your day: 5 minute dumbbell blast is here for YouTube Friday. All you need is 5 minutes (duh :-)), a pair of light dumbbells (1-2 kg/ 2-4 lbs), and that's it. You can do this routine before bed, after brushing your teeth,while making dinner or at your desk. Minty raspberry green smoothie

Let's be honest, it looks a bit like swamp water :-). But don't let the look fool you! This is a refreshing summer green smoothie with fruity raspberries and fresh mint. It comes together even quicker than other green smoothies because there is no chopping involved. Peel banana, add other ingredients, blend, done. It could not be easier! Give it a try for breakfast before berries go out of season. New foam roller exercise video is here!

It's YouTube Friday, and today I am going to show you that you can use your foam roller for more than just a quick massage and tension release (although those are amazing, too!). With a little bit of creativity, your foam roller can give you a full body strength session while working deep into your core. While there are difference in foam rollers (strength, grid or no grid), you can use any roller you already have. If you currently don't own one, I suggest buying a softer density one without any grids for now. They are usually cheaper, which means you can test them out and see if you enjoy using them. Then you can always upgrade later. Just make sure it's long so your whole spine can lie on
