It's not a secret that I am slightly obsessed with Cafe Umami in Oakland. The combination of flavors hits you like a bomb every time, the bowls are super healthy and balanced the way I love it, and the little cafe is a cute haven from the busy Oakland streets. Today's bowl is an effort to make a Umami bowl at home - super quick, and super delicious. Yes, it looks like a long list, but I promise you it takes less than 30 minutes to assemble everything. All you need is leftover brown rice, but you can use any kind of leftover grain from your fridge. It's YouTube Friday, and I know that you don't have enough time to fit in exercising. Today, all you need is 5 minutes to get it done. This s a quick high intensity interval session working your entire body. You can absolutely modify the jumps of the burpees for less impact. I break it all down at the beginning of the video. You can do this little routine as a warm up before your cardio session, in between lifting weights at the gym or as a stand alone session to get it done, and get on with serving breakfast to your kids. Sticky date pudding

I am kicking off my birthday week with a delicious sticky date pudding. This recipe is so easy - inspired by the amazing Nigella Lawson. Pouring boiling water over a sticky dough? Only she can pull that off, and come out of it all with a sticky toffee sauce that is to die for. I have taken her original recipe that I found 15 years ago (in her cookbook Nigella Bites), and have made it into a plant based and gluten free version that will not disappoint! It's YouTube Friday! Welcome to today's dumbbell express. I heard you. You've been asking for shorter videos that you can add to your regular gym routine or after your run. So here we are! In less than 15 minutes we will work with dumbbells to target arms, shoulders, and the back. Come and join me. All you need is light dumbbells (1-2 kg/ 2-4lbs) or simply some water bottles. A savory breakfast recipe: scrambled tofu

I tend to post mainly sweet breakfast recipes, because that is what I really love; warm, creamy oatmeals, yummy muffins, and gorgeous smoothie bowls. Occasionally I will craves something savory though, and that it gets tough. How many avocado toasts can I possibly eat? Well a lot, but that is beside the point. I don't eat eggs, so with that savory breakfast options are pretty much over and back to my sweets I go. I often get asked about eggs, and why I don't eat them since they are supposed to be so good for us. I really don't believe that eggs are the be all end all protein out there.
