Dreamy avocado chocolate mousse


This creamy, dairy free, white sugar free version of a chocolate mousse can be found on pretty much every health oriented blog these days. So this is my version, that I have been swearing by for years. It’s so easy to make, so deliciously chocolatey, and totally impresses anyone you serve this to. Actually, most of the time I just make an entire batch for myself to eat in front of the TV. There is my little secret for you! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

For 4 servings:

  • 2 ripe, soft avocados

  • ½ cup + 2 Tbsp raw cacao powder

  • ½ cup maple syrup (or other liquid sweetener of your choice)

  • ½ cup water

  • 2 Tbsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • pinch of cinnamon

  • pinch of sea salt

  • toppings: banana slices, berries, cacao nibs, chopped nuts or anything else you can think of

Put all ingredients in the food processor and blend for 2 minutes until creamy and soft. There should be absolutely no chunks of avocado left. This keeps in the fridge for up to 10 days - if you can resist it!




Bonus note: Make this into a banana chocolate mousse by adding a banana to the food processor. The banana adds extra sweetness without compromising the creamy texture.
