It's All Peachy smoothie


Everywhere I look at the moment, it's peach galore. I can't get enough of them after years of living in Asia with hard-as-a-rock peaches. Yes, I loved the array of tropical fruit: sunny mangos, fruity pineapple, and gorgeous melons... but oh my love for peaches is high this summer! And in order to celebrate them, I whip up this green smoothie.


I have written about my love for green smoothies before, and why I think everyone should drink one a day. This green smoothie is definitely not for newbies to the green smoothie, since the leafy greens used are strong tasting; raw arugula and basil are not for everyone. If you are worried, use more spinach instead. Spinach is my favorite leafy green to start your green smoothie adventures with, since it is mild tasting, and doesn't make you feel like you are drinking pond water. If you are already further along in your green smoothie journey, I highly suggest you start rotating in some other leafy greens, to get more nutritional benefits.

Preparation time: 5 minutes

Makes 1 serving (about 1 cup):

  • ½ large peach (makes about ½ cup roughly chopped)

  • ¼ cup fresh or frozen raspberries

  • 1 cup spinach

  • ¾ cups cold water

  • ¼ cup arugula

  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves

Blend everything in a blender for 1.5 minutes until creamy and smooth.
