Let's not forget our puppies this holiday season. A few months ago I started cooking food for Puppy Haigo - I can go into more detail about this if you want me to, just comment below. It is mind blowing how his behavior, his activity, and his body have changed. The most important part was to make treats that I wouldn't feel guilty giving him. Have you ever read the ingredient labels of treats? The sugars, flours, colors, and high fructose corn syrup are something I would never eat myself! And while we were working with a dog trainer, he needed a million treats a day. So I came up with this super simple recipe, that you can either make into cookies - like these holiday cookies - or roll into balls and bake the same way. And I can guarantee you, your puppy will adore them!
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Makes 20 cookies:
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/4 cup melted virgin coconut oil
Pre-heat oven to 175°C/350°F, and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor, and mix until a smooth dough has formed.
Roll it out with an extra pinch of flour. Then cut out cookies (or you can just roll dough into little balls).
Bake for 15 minutes until crunchy and slightly golden.
Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
