“Almost every civilization since the beginning of time has used crystals in a variety of ways - from healings to offerings to protective talismans. Queen Cleopatra and the ancient Egyptians used ground Malachite and Lapis Lazuli to create a rainbow of eye shadows and cosmetics. The Romans embedded crystals into their armor and shields to provide protection and strength while in battle. In India, Ayurvedic medicine has used crystal energy to correct physical, emotional, and metaphysical imbalances within the body. So while we might not know exactly how a crystal works, we know we’re not the only ones who believe in them.”
I don’t know how to convey to you how much I love this book. It has been in my possession for over a year, and I have gifted this book too many times to count. Seriously, every time I order it again, Amazon tells me that I have already ordered multiple copies. I think they may be worrried I am opening a book store with so much supply :-). The thing I love most about this book is how the authors have made this topics so light, and bring it into context with our modern day life. Crystals may seem like some woo woo idea of wasting time and money, but this book will change your mind.
“If you’re still not convinced, think of it this way: Quartz has made the digital world a reality. Consider all the devices you use in a day - your cell phone, tablet, and computer. Did you know that LCD stands for liquid crystal display and that every one of these devices is powered by a silicon processor chip? Silicon is an element derived from silicate material, a.k.a Quartz, found in the Earth’s crust.”
Getting into crystals can seem very dark and confusing, and like you might be doing something wrong. Don't worry, think of crystals like a new shiny toy that brings fun and lightness into your life. This book will bring you out of your comfort zone, but it will also open your eyes to so many magnificent things about our earth and crystals.
“Look at it this way: while science still has yet to prove that crystals can affect our mental and physical being, neither has it proven that they can’t.”
Do they work? I don’t know. I think they do, because ultimately they highlight things I am working on in my life, and they make me feel like a child in a candy store. I use crystals to enhance my mediation and affirmations, I use crystals to change the vibe in our home, and I mostly use them because they are super pretty.
“Very often, the crystals you choose will be absolutely relevant to your life in the present moment. It’s your intuition’s way of telling you what your soul needs. Isn’t it crazy how accurate the crystals are? Truthfully, it’s how accurate you are. Remember that you picked the stones! Something deep within your soul was telling you what you needed to remember about yourself.”
The book is filled with stories about so many different crystals, and how they have been used for centuries. There are rituals for any area in your life - from health, to women’s cycles and fertility, to wealth, career, and spirituality. There are personal stories of the authors Heather and Timmi, and and how they go through times of their lives leaning on crystals and helping heal. I just love this book, and I am obsessed with crystals and their power.
Each chapter of this book focuses on a different area in your life:
Unwind the mind: refocus, re-center, and reduce anxiety
The Temple within: for inner transformation
Be a money magnet
Breakdown to Breakthrough: turning dark moments in life to opportunities for growth
The Love Guru
Baby making and fertility
Removing negative energy from your life
Living in tune with the moon
It is truly a book your can return to again and again, it is a gift that keep on giving. Even if you never go out and buy a crystal or do any of the rituals in this book, it is a beautiful coffee table book to have around with gorgeous, happy photography. I am sure you will fall in love with it, and with crystals, too :-).
