Cherry superfoods breakfast bowl

Since yesterday I raved about maca and goji berries, today I want to show you how to easily turn these into a delicious breakfast bowl. I use maca mainly in my smoothies, but sometimes will also add it to a porridge like in this recipe. Since the taste of it can take some getting used to, I always suggest to only start with 1 teaspoon. You don’t really need more than 1 tablespoon per day anyways, so you are already half way there! 

 

Preparation time: 8 minutes

Cooking time: 5 minutes

For 1 serving:

 

- ½ cup rolled oats

- ½ cup frozen cherries

- 1 Tbsp dried goji berries

- 1 tsp vanilla extract

- 1 Tbsp coconut oil

- 1 Tbsp raw honey

- 1 tsp maca powder 

 

  1. Place the rolled oats, cherries, goji berries, and vanilla extract in a small pot and cover everything with water. Place on stove at medium- high heat and let simmer for 5 minutes until the water has cooked away. Stir twice while it is cooking. 

  2. Turn off the stove, and stir in coconut oil, honey, and maca powder. Serve right away while still steaming hot and enjoy.
